Kabul: Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministry Deputy Secretary Sher Abbas Stanik Jai, while addressing a gathering in Khost province on Saturday evening, said that there is no reason to deprive girls of education. This happened in the past. But there is no point in doing so at this age. Today and in future also it should not happen that half of the country’s population remains deprived of education.

Stanic Jai, who led the Taliban in expelling foreign troops from Afghanistan, said that we have banned the education of 2 crore people out of the country’s 4 crore population. They have been deprived of their rights. There is no such Islamic law, but we did this of our own free will. I once again tell the central leadership that they should open doors for girls’ education. Afghanistan can progress only if they read ahead.

This is not the first time that Stanic Jaya has raised her voice for the rights of women and girls and registered a protest. But this time he asked Taliban chief Hibatullah Akhundzada who was present in the meeting. Said while addressing them.

After coming to power in Afghanistan, girls’ education beyond the sixth grade was banned. In September last year, an order was given to keep women away from medical education also. It was also ordered that only female doctors could treat girls. It is not certain how much truth there is in this news. The silence of Afghan officials raises doubts on this.
