Manu Bhaker became an inspiration for every Indian after she won two bronze medals in shooting in Paris Olympics 2024. The rising star surely has more achievements ahead of her in her professional. It is therefore heart-rending to see the ace athlete in a sombre mood after tragedy like death in the family. A video doing rounds on social media shows Manu Bhaker consoling her family members following accidental death of her maternal uncle and maternal grandmother.
Manu’s uncle Yudhveer Singh and grandmother Savitri Devi died in an accident Charkhi Dadri in Haryana. The road accident took place on Sunday (January 19).
Police officials told media that Manu’s uncle and grandmother were riding a two-wheeler when a car struck the vehicle. The driver of the car has escaped and police are still on the lookout.
Manu has now reached Charkhi Dadri and has visited her family home. The video that’s being shared online shows her consoling her bereaved family members who are understandably distraught after the tragedy. The video shows Manu consoling a middle-aged woman who is crying. The identity of the woman was not immediately clear.
On Sunday, news agency ANI quoted a police official who gave details about the accident
“The accident took place between Mahindergarh Chowk and Bhiwani Chowk. We reached the spot, and the driver (of the car) fled from the spot. A post-mortem has been done. A case has been registered against the driver…” said ASI Shirish Kumar as quoted by ANI.
At the time of publishing of this story, Manu had not posted anything about the accident from her official handle on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
