A chilling video of a puppy being crushed by a car in UP’s Bulandshahr is being widely circulated online by animal lovers, seeking strict action against the man who drove the vehicle over the young dog multiple times.
The visuals showed the driver mercilessly running his car four times over the puppy. The accused is being identified as a policeman named Shukveer Singh.
He has reportedly been arrested after animal activists and netizens shared the footage of the gruesome act online, drawing the attention of senior police officials to take action against him.
A Wagon R with a Delhi registration plate was seen reversing in a residential area when it ran over a puppy. The parked vehicle didn’t appear to hit the stray animal mistakenly. It repeatedly drove its wheels over the young dog resting on the street.
Visuals surface
The video opened to show the car starting off the parked space and hitting the animal sleeping on the road. The car ran over the puppy which rested in the middle of the road.
Instead of stepping down from the vehicle and ensuring the puppy wasn’t hurt, the ‘policeman’ hit the puppy again. He drove the car for at least four times on the puppy allegedly to kill it. After the first hit, when the vehicle just took off, the car reversed to hurt the animal and crush it under its wheels.
It was learned that the animal died after the man made several attempts to kill it with his car.
The cruel act was recorded on a CCTV camera installed nearby. The footage is being shared online by netizens demanding justice for the animal.
Accused Arrested
An animal activist named Kaveri Rana raised voice against the culprit and posted the video of the brutal act on X. She tagged the UP Police to look into the matter and provide severe punishment to the accused. In her X post, Kaveri claimed the man who was driving the Wagon R and fatally causing hurt to the young dog was a policeman.
“In a shocking & brutal incident, a policeman ran a #puppy over with his car over 4 times, as reported to me by @PetaIndia This evil man kept crushing the puppy even after he died! This heinous act of brutality should not go unpunished & I demand justice for the poor innocent pup”, she wrote.
In a recent update in the case, Kaveri Rana informed that the accused had been arrested.
Mahua Moitra demands strict action
TMC MP and pet parent Mahua Moitra also reacted to the incident on social media. Taking to X, she revealed the details of the accused and identified him as a policeman named Shukveer Singh, a resident of Ganganagar, Bulandshahr. She tagged the Bulandshahr police to investigate the matter and take action against the accused to killed the puppy by running over his car multiple times on it.
