Ingredients for making semolina barfi
- Desi Ghee: ½ cup
- Gram flour: 1 teaspoon
- Semolina: 1 cup
- Milk: 3-4 spoons
- Milk Powder: 3 spoons
- Sugar: 1 cup
- Water: ½ cup
- Cardamom powder: ½ tsp
- Nuts (cashews, almonds, pistachios): finely chopped
How to make Semolina Barfi
- Fry ghee and gram flour:
- First of all, heat desi ghee in a pan.
- Add 1 spoon gram flour in it and fry it lightly.
- Fry semolina:
- After gram flour, add semolina and fry until it turns golden.
- When the semolina turns light golden brown and starts smelling, then add milk to it.
- Cook the mixture:
- After adding milk, cook it while stirring well.
- When the milk dries completely, turn off the gas and let the mixture cool slightly.
- Mix milk powder:
- Add milk powder to the cold mixture and mix well.
- Prepare the syrup:
- Prepare one-string syrup by adding sugar and water in another pan.
- Add the mixture of roasted semolina and gram flour in the syrup.
- Cook the mixture:
- Stir the syrup and semolina mixture until it thickens and starts leaving the pan.
- Make barfi:
- Grease a plate or tray with ghee.
- Turn the prepared mixture into it and spread it evenly.
- Decorate:
- Sprinkle chopped nuts and cardamom powder on top.
- After it cools down, cut it into diamond shapes.
