Pakistan took a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series against West Indies on Sunday. In the first Test played in Multan, Pakistan defeated West Indies by 127 runs. West Indies team was out for just 123 runs while chasing the target of 251 runs on the third day. Pakistan’s spinner Sajid Khan performed brilliantly, taking 5 wickets for 50 runs in 15 overs in the second innings, whereas he had taken 4 wickets in the first innings. He received the Player of the Match award for his excellent performance.

Sajid Khan completed 50 wickets in Test cricket, which is an important achievement for him. He crossed this milestone in his 11th Test. He has become the joint third fastest Pakistani bowler to take 50 Test wickets. Mohammad, Saeed Ajmal and Abdur Rehman have also taken the same number of wickets. The record of taking the fastest 50 wickets for Pakistan is in the name of Yasir Shah, who achieved this feat in just 9 Test matches. Sajid made his Test debut in April 2021.

Pakistan wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan also created a new record when he completed his 100 catches by taking three catches in the match. He has done this feat in 38 Test matches and now he has become the sixth wicketkeeper of Pakistan to take 100 or more catches. Ahead of Rizwan are Rashid Latif, Moeen Khan, Sarfaraz Ahmed and Kamran Akmal. The record of most catches as a wicketkeeper from Pakistan is in the name of Wasim Bari, who took 201 catches in 81 Tests.
