Going back in time, CD Deshmukh from Mumbai served for a total of 6.2 years.

The former president also held the FM’s post for 6.4 years in over multiple decades.

Former PM, Morarji Desai, held the all-important job of the FM for 7.11 years.

Last but not least, P. Chidambaram currently holds the record for the longest serving FM with a tenure of 8.1 years in the office.
