Railways has started the work of doubling the Agra-Bandikui railway track. Under this project, first of all land leveling work is being done. North Central Railway has rapidly started the work of leveling the land from Panchmukhi to Biwai section.
According to railway officials, the further process will be completed in a phased manner after land levelling. Besides, the process of land acquisition for doubling will also be started soon. This railway track is approximately 151 kilometers long and its doubling will improve the handling of passengers and goods trains.
What will change with the doubling of tracks?
1. Time saving and convenience
- The Bandikui-Agra track connects many big cities of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
- At present, 30 pairs of passenger trains and 40 goods trains run daily on this track.
- Doubling will increase the number and speed of trains, thereby saving time and improving passenger experience.
2. There will be reduction in waiting for trains
- At present, passenger and freight trains at times have to give way to express and superfast trains.
- Frequent stoppages of trains make the journey long and inconvenient.
- After doubling: Trains will not need to stop at stations, which will reduce travel time.
