Kota student suicide: The cases of suicide of students are not stopping in the education city Kota. The suicide of students one after the other has increased the concern among the parents of the students studying in Kota. Another student committed suicide by hanging himself in Jawaharnagar area of Kota. The deceased student Manan Jain was a resident of Bundi district and was studying in 12th class and preparing for JEE while staying in Kota. The body of the student is currently kept in the police mortuary. Now the student’s family has also reached Kota.
Another student committed suicide within 24 hours
This is the second case of suicide in Kota within 24 hours. Earlier, Odisha resident Abhijeet Giri had committed suicide by hanging himself. His body was handed over to the family after post-mortem on Saturday. Abhijeet Giri was preparing for NEET while staying in Kota. The student’s brother says that the study environment in Kota is good, but strict action is needed on the incidents of suicide that have been happening in the last few days.
In January also two students committed suicide
On January 8, 20-year-old Abhishek committed suicide by hanging himself from the fan in his PG room in Kota. He is a resident of Guna district of Madhya Pradesh. Since May 2023, he was preparing for JEE in a coaching institute in Kota. Apart from this, 19 year old Neeraj, resident of Haryana, had committed suicide on January 7. He was found strangled in the hostel room.
Suicide cases increased in Kota
Students are also facing mental stress amid the study environment in Kota. Four students have committed suicide in January 2025. Out of which three were preparing for JEE and one for NEET. In the suicide note found with the student, it was written about not being able to live up to the expectations of his parents.
