Satara Shocker! Woman’s Head, Lower Limbs Found With Lemon, Chilli, And Gulal; Human Sacrifice Angle Under Scanner |

A shocking incident of a probale human sacrifice has come to light from a village in Satara district. The crime was unfolded on Friday afternoon in Phaltan’s Vidani village, where a woman’s body was discovered in a sugarcane field.

The body, with its head severed from the torso, has raised suspicions of a ritualistic killing, possibly linked to superstition.

Alongside the body, several ritualistic items were found at the site, including lemon, chilli, coconut, gulal (colored powder), and a black doll. Additionally, the woman’s severed hair and a knife were recovered from the area. These items have led investigators to suspect the possibility of a human sacrifice, though this theory is yet to be confirmed.

Missing torso raise questions

A part of her head and lower limbs were found close to a sugarcane farm near Vidani village, while the torso is missing, Senior Inspector Sunil Mahadik of Phaltan police station said.

“The body parts are decomposed. All angles, including that of black magic and superstition, are being probed,” he said.

Pradeep Jadhav, a local farmer, stumbled upon the partially decomposed body while inspecting his sugarcane field. Upon discovering the remains, Jadhav immediately informed the authorities. The Phaltan Police, including senior officials, swiftly arrived at the scene and conducted a panchnama to initiate an investigation.

The body appeared to have been discarded in the sugarcane field several days ago, with signs that animals had dragged part of it out of the grave. Local police believe the woman may have been murdered elsewhere before being dumped in the field.
