Islamabad: The political career of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is considered to be over. Cutting. The court found him guilty in the corruption case and sentenced him to 14 years’ imprisonment and his wife Bushra Bibi was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment. Imran and his wife have been convicted in the £190 million corruption case of Alqadir Trust.
Anti-corruption court judge Javed Rana announced the verdict at a temporary court set up in Adillah jail, where Imran Khan is being held. Imran Khan is facing dozens of cases after losing the trust vote in Parliament in 2022.
Imran Khan has been punished for corrupt practices and abuse of power, while his wife has been punished for her involvement in illegal activities. Imran Khan is in jail since August 2023. A fine of Rs 10 lakh has been imposed on him and Rs 5 lakh on Bibi. If they fail to pay the fine, Imran Khan will have to remain in jail for six months and Bibi for three months. The court also ordered the land of Al-Qadir University established by him to be taken into its possession. Bibi was arrested after the sentence was announced.
