A Pakistani court on Friday convicted former PM Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in a land scam and corruption case and sentenced Imran Khan to 14 years and Bushra Bibi to 7 years. Judge Nasir Javed Rana sentenced both of them to fine in addition to imprisonment.
In which Imran Khan got Rs. 10 lakh and Bushra Bibi Rs. A fine of Rs 5 lakh was imposed. For not paying the fine, Imran Khan has been sentenced to 6 months and Bushra has been sentenced to 3 more months in jail. Bushra Bibi’s Trust Al Qadir, both husband and wife scammed Pakistan. The government treasury suffered a loss of 50 billion Pakistani rupees. Both of them sold land worth billions of rupees to the Pakistani government cheaply through Bushra Bibi’s Al Qadir Trust. In this case, Imran Khan was arrested on 9 May 2023 and sent to jail. After this, his supporters created a ruckus across the country and attacked many important military posts. This time too there is a fear that after the jail sentence, Imran Khan’s supporters will riot across the country.
Pakistan’s NAB has registered a case against a total of 8 people.
Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had registered a case against Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi and six others in December 2023 in the Al Qadir Trust case. However, before this case, Imran Khan was lodged in Adiala jail in the Toshakha case. According to a report, Imran Khan and his wife paid Rs. Bribe worth Rs 1,955 crore was taken. The judge has ordered to hand over Al Qadir Trust to the government. In this case, the former PM is serving his sentence in jail while Bushra Bibi has been arrested and put in jail. Imran Khan has denied the allegations against him and said that the action against him is politically motivated.
