Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Passengers of the Kolkata-Indore-Kolkata flight had a tough time on Thursday night. When the already late flight arrived here, it was not allowed to land due to the fog and diverted to Ahmedabad.

The pilots quit the aircraft as their flying duty was over and finally the flight returned to the city after a delay of over 18.30 hours.

The upset passengers created ruckus both at Ahmedabad and at the city airport. According to information received from the city airport, as per the schedule Air India Express flight IX-2643/2644 departs from Kolkata at 6.30 PM, reaches the Indore airport at 8.40 PM and goes back to Kolkata at 9.10 PM.

However, an on board passenger Rahul Dave informed that on Thursday, the flight departed from Kolkata at 10.30 PM. When it reached Indore airport at around 12.30 PM, there was dense fog. The pilot tried to land the plane once, but could not. After taking rounds in the sky for some time, the plane was diverted to Ahmedabad.

After reaching there, the passengers were told that the flight would leave for Indore once the weather improved. In the meantime, as the flying time of both the pilots was over, they left the aircraft and told the passengers that the plane would be taken to Indore at 10.30 AM. At this, the passengers started creating a ruckus there.

They were later taken off the plane and shifted to the lounge. Some of them were sent to a hotel. Rahul said that due to the pilot not being available on time in the morning, the passengers were told that the flight would leave for the city at 12.30 PM.

Later, the flight departed from Ahmedabad at 1.50 PM and reached Indore at 2.28 PM. The passengers who had to fly to Kolkata also reached the city airport and created a ruckus due to the non-availability of the flight.
