One such post is going viral in which it is being claimed that the government is going to issue a new coin of Rs 7 in honor of former Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
Is this claim true?
A picture is going viral on social media platforms. In which RBI i.e. Reserve Bank of India has been mentioned. It says, ‘RBI is going to issue a new coin of Rs 7 in honor of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The plate shined once again.
Now the fact check of Press Information Bureau (PIB) has revealed that this viral claim is false. The government has not made any such announcement. Posting on ‘X’, PIB wrote, ‘A picture circulating on social media claims that a new coin of Rs 7 will be issued in honor of Mahendra Singh Dhoni for his contribution to Indian cricket. ‘This claim being made through the picture is wrong.’
Dhoni’s cricket career
MS Dhoni, considered one of the most successful captains of India till date, led the Indian team to victory in the T20 World Cup in 2007. After this, in the year 2011, under his captaincy, India became world champion in ODI. Dhoni has now retired from international cricket. But still he keeps playing in IPL. He played 90 tests in his career and scored 4876 runs. He has scored 10 thousand 773 runs in 350 ODI matches. Apart from this, he has scored 1617 runs in 98 T20 matches. So far he has scored 5243 runs in 264 IPLs.
