Nine Killed In Horrific Road Accident As Car Crashes Into Stationary Bus Near Narayangaon

In a horrific accident in Pune district, nine people died in a road accident on the Nashik-Pune highway on Friday morning, an official said.

As per the further information shared by Pune Rural Police SP Pankaj Deshmukh, “The accident occurred after a truck dashed a minivan from behind, which further collided with a bus (which was stationed).”

The accident occurred near Narayangaon around 10 am.

The minivan was heading towards Narayangaon when a tempo hit the vehicle from behind, causing it to ram into an empty bus parked on the side of the road,

All nine occupants of the minivan were killed, he said, adding that further details were awaited.

Container hits multiple vehicles, injures 2

This comes a day after a container truck hit multiple vehicles and injured two women on Thursday.

The police informed that nine to 10 vehicles were damaged after a container truck allegedly hit them on Chakan-Shikrapur Road in Maharashtra’s Pune district.

Travelling from Chakan towards Shikrapur on Chakan-Shikrapur Road, the truck hit a woman and a young girl at Talegaon Chowk. It then continued crashing into vehicles as it moved towards Shikrapur.

Upon receiving reports of the container colliding with vehicles on the road, officers from Chakan Police Station attempted to intercept the container using a government vehicle. However, at Bahul, the container collided with a government vehicle, an Ertiga, before continuing its reckless path. Fortunately, the police officer was unharmed in the incident.

The container, still on its destructive path, collided with several vehicles before being stopped by locals, who placed a dumper on the road at Wajewadi, within the jurisdiction of Shikrapur Police Station. With assistance from Chakan and Shikrapur Police, the container was finally halted.

In the meantime, an angry crowd beat the driver, Aqib Khan, a resident of Haryana. He was admitted to Shikrapur Rural Hospital for medical treatment. The woman and the girl injured in the incident are reported to be in serious condition. Additionally, the container caused damage to around 9 to 10 vehicles on the road.
