Chhattisgarh News: The biggest conflict of 2025 took place in Chhattisgarh. 12 Naxalites were killed in an encounter between security forces and Naxalites in Bijapur district on Thursday. At present, 2000 soldiers have surrounded the entire forest to kill the Naxalites.

A senior police officer said that a joint team of security personnel was on an anti-Naxal operation in the forests of South Bijapur at around 9 am. During this time an encounter took place. Intermittent firing continued from both sides till late evening.

The operation involved personnel of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) of three districts of the state police, five battalions of CoBRA and the 229th battalion of the CRPF, the officer said.

According to initial information, 12 Naxalites were killed in the encounter. The search operation is still going on in the area, so detailed information is awaited.

He said that there was no loss to the security forces in this encounter. Also, so far this month, 26 Naxalites have been killed in different encounters in the state.

On January 12, 2025, five Naxalites, including two women, were killed in an encounter with security personnel in Madded police station area of ​​Bijapur district. Last year, security forces had killed 219 Naxalites in various encounters in the state.
