In a briefing after the cabinet meeting, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that PM Narendra Modi has approved the formation of the Eighth Pay Commission for central government employees. It is to be implemented from next year, but a commission will be formed soon for this. The names of its chairman and two members will also be announced soon.
When was the 7th Pay Commission constituted?
Importantly, central government employees are currently paid as per the 7th Pay Commission constituted in 2016. Now the 8th Pay Commission will be implemented from 2026. For this, suggestions, recommendations etc. should come on time. Therefore it will be made soon. It will have a chairperson and two members whose names will be announced soon.

Third launch pad approved in Sriharikota
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the Cabinet has approved the third launch pad in Sriharikota. This launch pad will be modern. Which will be helpful for the next generation launch vehicle. A rocket can be placed on this launch pad, assembled and launched directly. Its cost will be Rs 3985 crore. Its capacity will be more than the previous two launch pads.
When will the launch pad be built?
According to the Union Minister, the work of the third launch pad in Sriharikota will be completed in the next 48 months. It will be prepared keeping the next 30 years in mind. In the future, ISRO is going to launch the manned Chandrayaan mission, this launch pad will also be used in that.
