Joe Biden has said that the proposed IMEC corridor from India to Europe via West Asia could become a reality after the ceasefire in Gaza.

US President Joe Biden has said that with the announcement of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, the IMEC corridor can now take real shape. Biden said, “At the G20 summit in Delhi on September 23, I united leading countries around the vision of an economic corridor from India to West Asia to Europe. “That vision can now take real shape.”

What did India say on the ceasefire deal?

India’s statement has also come out on the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. India has welcomed the announcement of ceasefire in Gaza and the agreement for the release of hostages. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs said- “It is hoped that this agreement will ensure the continued supply of humanitarian assistance safely to the people of Gaza. “We will continue to call for the release of hostages, a ceasefire and dialogue and diplomacy.”

Which countries are included in the IMEC corridor?

Let us tell you that IMEC corridor is being seen as an alternative to China’s ‘One Belt, One Road’ plan. India, America, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, European Union, France, Germany and Italy are involved in this corridor project. However, the IMEC corridor project came to a halt after Hamas attacked Israel in October 2023.
