As organisation continues to develop their artificial intelligence (AI) structures, Google is also working on enhancing its AI-powered experience. The tech giant brings a new AI-powered development in its Gmail app for Android.
Gmaill has introduced a ‘Insert’ button to its Gemini assistant. This new feature makes the process of adding AI-generated easy. Now you can reply directly to email drafts. The main aim of this update is to address the gap which existed earlier between the web and Android versions of Gmail.
Google brings new features
The new Insert button has already been available on the web version of Gmail since 2024, Now finally its rolling out to Android users. So, how does this new update works? Previously, you could generate AI replies using Gemini and manually copy and paste the suggested text into email drafts. But the new Insert button removes this hassle. Now you can add the AI-generated response to your drafts with a single tap.
According to a report by Android Authorityhe, the new update was introduced with Gmail for Android version 2025.01.05.715468168. Please note that you will need a Gemini Advanced subscription to access this feature. As of now the feature is being rolled out globally. You can only access it by updating your Gmail app to the latest version

The new feature is part of Gmail’s “Suggest a reply” tool. Notably, this tool provides you with advanced AI capabilities. This includes the following features:
Summarising emails
You can also retrieve information from past conversations
This also allows you to interact with Google Calendar.
Please note that the addition of Gemini AI with Google Calendar, introduced last year. This allows Gemini to create events based on email content or respond to queries related to scheduled appointments.
