In a shocking mid-week twist, actress Shilpa Shirodkar was evicted from Bigg Boss 18 on Wednesday only days before the grand finale. Her eviction left the entire house in tears, and in an exclusive conversation with Free Press Journal, she opened up on the bonds and equations she made inside the house.
One of the highlights of Shilpa’s journey was her bond with Karan Veer Mehra and Vivian Dsena. While she stuck by Karan till the very end, her friendship with Vivian developed cracks over time. “I think Vivian wasn’t ready for the relationship anymore. He didn’t want the friendship because he was so brainwashed with Avinash Mishra telling him that it was not the right thing, and that I was playing safe because I was friends with both Vivian and Karan. I felt that if Vivian didn’t want it and if he was so clear in his mind, then it was best to withdraw from the equation,” she explained.
She went on to say, “Karan gave me so much time and he was so kind to me in spite of me doing what I did to him. So, there was a growth in the friendship. And obviously, if Vivian was allowed to make choices regarding our friendship, then I also had the right to make my choices and stand by them.”
Throughout the show, Shilpa was accused of riding two boats and using Karan and Vivian for the game. Disagreeing with the same, she quipped, “There was no game plan at all. Because if it was my plan then I would still be inside the house.”
She also stated that the entire Karan and Vivian trope began because of a track and that she never tried to contribute anything to the narrative. “There was never a trope. In fact, I got stuck in the track because of that one Rajmata task. Then suddenly an Avinash Mishra rose and he started feeling insecure. He said he wanted Vivian only for himself and Vivian agreed. And just like that, the track got over. I believe the audience was liking the track but we were not doing anything consciously to keep it going,” she stated.
While Shilpa called her Bigg Boss 18 journey “absolutely amazing”, she rued that she has only one regret and that is nominating her best friend Karan in one of the tasks. “If there was one thing that I can change about my stay inside the house, it would be not nominating my buddy Karan,” she said.
On a parting note, Shilpa stated that she sees Karan, Vivian, Avinash and Rajat Dalal in the Top 5 along with Chum Darang. When asked who she thinks would win Bigg Boss 18, she replied, “Karan or Chum, or Vivian. There is clarity, I am not confused!”
