Israel-Hamas war: Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said late on Wednesday (January 15) that a ceasefire agreement with Hamas has not yet been concluded. Work is going on to finalize it. Hours before Netanyahu’s statement, the US and Qatar announced the agreement. Thousands of Palestinians took to the streets to celebrate. It is noteworthy that this agreement will pave the way for the end of the 15-month-long war in Gaza and the release of a large number of hostages.

Benjamin Netanyahu did not let the matter get complicated!

According to reports, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has not clarified whether he accepts the agreement announced hours ago by Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman al-Thani and US President Joe Biden. Benjamin Netanyahu said, ‘We will give a formal response only after the final details of this agreement are finalized.’

For the past several weeks, talks have been going on in Qatar’s capital Doha on a ceasefire agreement in the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas. The ceasefire was also being described as a major success for America. However, matters have been further complicated by Benjamin Netanyahu’s rejection.

It is noteworthy that in this war that has been going on for the last 15 months, more than 46,000 people have been killed so far. Meanwhile, 90 percent of Gaza’s population has been displaced. On October 7, 2023, Israel attacked Gaza after Hamas launched a major attack on Israel. More than 1200 people were killed in this attack.
