Morena (Madhya Pradesh): Residents of the district experienced fog drips early Wednesday morning. The fog drips falling on trees and crops turned into frost. In the morning, the visibility in the city was 10 meters, and, on the highway, movement of vehicles almost stopped.
Thick fog also slowed down railway traffic. Because the sky was overcast throughout the day, the visibility was 150 to 200 meters. Fog caused bone-chilling cold to the residents in the city and those living in its surrounding areas. School children were the worst sufferers.
According to agricultural scientists, this kind of weather is good for wheat, gram, and pulses, but if it lasts for more than four days, it may damage mustard crops. Weather scientists say the district may witness light rain in the next 24 hours. The minimum day temperature declined to 1.5 degree Celsius to 2 degrees. The temperature gradually went up to nine degrees Celsius. Forty-hours ago, the maximum temperature was recorded at 21 degrees Celsius.
Although the highest temperature declined and minimum temperature increased, the city was under thick fog which threw daily life out of gear. A scientist in Regional Agriculture Research Centre Sandeep Singh Tomar appealed to the people to cover their bodies properly before going out of their homes. Farmers have been advised to keep their cattle under sheds.
