According to WHO report, iron deficiency is the most common nutritional problem worldwide. Iron deficiency can cause many health problems, such as fatigue, weakness, pale skin, difficulty breathing, impaired mental development, and difficulty concentrating. Apart from this, the nails also become thin and weak, and discomfort is also felt in the feet. Some special food items have been mentioned in Ayurveda which are helpful in increasing iron levels. Know three such special food items:

1. Black sesame

Black sesame seeds are an excellent source to overcome anemia. These not only boost iron levels, but also provide calcium, magnesium, copper, zinc, selenium, and vitamins B6, E, and folate. Nutritional deficiency can be overcome by eating roasted black sesame seeds daily.

2. Jaggery and gram

Jaggery contains a good amount of iron, which compensates for the lack of blood in the body. Gram is also a rich source of iron, which also contains protein, fiber and manganese. Eating a mixture of these two on an empty stomach helps in increasing the level of hemoglobin in the body.

3. Mixture of honey and amla

Amla is an excellent source of boosting immunity. It is rich in essential nutrition. When eaten mixed with honey and black pepper, it not only aids digestion but also removes iron and vitamin deficiencies. According to Ayurveda, it is easily absorbed in the body and provides essential nutrition.
