SAS Nagar: The troubles of dismissed DSP Gursher Singh have increased in the case of interrogation of gangster Lawrence. Now he will have to approach Punjab and Haryana High Court to avoid jail. In this case, senior officers of Punjab Police also appeared in the court and records related to the investigation were presented.
Gursher Singh Sandhu has presented two major arguments in his petition. He has claimed that the FIR registered against him at the State Crime Police Station in Mohali is false. The matter was first investigated by the then SSP of Mohali, CSSP Sandeep Garg, who found the complaint to be false. Later, Ropar SP, who is junior to SSP Garg, lodged an FIR on this complaint. Apart from this, it has also been argued in the petition that Gursher Singh has also been a victim in the Lawrence Bishnoi interview controversy.
An FIR has been registered against the dismissed DSP at the State Crime Police Station in Mohali under serious charges. In FIR number 33, Sandhu has been booked under sections 417, 465, 467, 468, 471 of the Indian Penal Code and section 13/2 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The complaint alleges that during his tenure as DSP, Sandhu targeted innocent people, filed false complaints against them and forced them to compromise. Baljinder Singh alias Taha has filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court alleging threat to his life, alleging that DSP Sandhu had filed complaints against him and later negotiated with him to recover money. In this regard, the monitoring department is also investigating this matter separately.
