Hina Khan is a true warrior in every sense as she is busy working nonstop even while battling breast cancer. The actress, who will soon be seen in Epic On’s new web show Griha Laxmi, recently joined The Free Press Journal and spoke her heart out about her battle.
Revealing she hasn’t even shared 1% of her journey, Hina said, “Honestly, I’m being very clear – I haven’t even shared 1% of my journey. Not even 1% of what you’ve seen out there. I’ll keep it very short and crisp. I have probably shared some videos which I felt were very important for me to put out there because right now, as we speak, there are a million people who are going through this, dealing with this – women and men, especially women.”
She added, “So, you know, putting out a video about my hair or everything and giving out little tiny details about my health – it was intentional because it has a backstory. Now, if I go into the backstory, it will take up a lot of time. But every video, whatever 1% of my journey I have shared, has a reason. There is a backstory. I got the thought from somewhere, from my experiences, and I decided, ‘No, Hina, I think you should put it out.’ I think it is needed. I think women need that strength, and that’s when I put that video out.”
Stating how difficult and heartbreaking it was for her to put those videos out, the actress said, “It was hard, it was very hard to put it out. I have watched it a million times and decided, ‘Should I, should I not?’ Because every time I looked at that video, I only used to cry. It was so heartbreaking. I thought to myself, ‘Am I making a mistake?’ But I was like, ‘No, let me just put it out.’ And it actually turned out to be very helpful for people, wherein women reached out to my hairstylist and wanted to get the same kind of hair made for them – hair extensions made for them. So, I felt nice.”
She concluded the chat by saying, “But I am definitely going to share my entire journey one day – I will. I want to put it out. I will.”
Hina Khan is batting against stage 3 breast cancer. The actress shared the heartbreaking news of her diagnosis in June last year. Ever since, Hina has been posting snippets on Instagram about her health and journey. We wish the actress a speedy recovery!
