Krishnadas Paul started his company SAJ Food at the age of 60. He named the company by combining the first letters of his children’s names Sharmistha, Arpan and Jayita.
Bisque Farm started in 2000
Krishnadas Paul’s plan was to make sugar free biscuits. For this he started Bisque Farm in the year 2000. It was very challenging for the company to succeed. After its establishment in 2004, Bisque Farms faced several financial crises. At that time he had suffered a loss of Rs 15 crore. After this Krishnadas Paul turned his attention towards Eastern India. He introduced seven new varieties of biscuits, each with a locally distinct taste. This strategic move of his proved to be the key to his success.

Unfortunately, Krishnadas Paul passed away during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Even after leaving this world, his legacy is strong. His son Arpan Paul has assumed the role of Executive Chairman and is dedicated to maintaining his father’s vision and leading the company.

According to the news published in ET, SAJ Food will end FY 2023 with a turnover of Rs 2100 crore. Done with a turnover of Rs 2100 crore. This achievement has further strengthened their position as a major player in the biscuit industry across the country. Krishnadas Paul was born in Kamarita village of Burdwan. After completing LLB, he joined his father’s business and distribution company. It was started by his father in 1947.

When the family business was divided among five brothers, Krishnadas Paul established his own company, Aparna Agency, in 1974. It began distributing products for Nestle, Dabur and Reckitt & Coleman. After this, in the year 2000 he established Bisq Farm. Bisque Farms now operates five factories and is formerly the second largest biscuit brand in the East after Britannia.
