Joburg Super Kings bowler Imran Tahir brought out his inner Cristiano Ronaldo and pulled off ‘Siuu’ celebration during the SA20 match against Durban’s Super Giants. Tahir brought out the vintage celebration after dismissing Brandon King. The leg spinner began his trademark celebratory run, sprinting almost to the boundary rope before pulling off the iconic celebration.

Joburg Super Kings register comfortable win over Durban’s Super Giants

Joburg’s skipper Faf du Plessis won the toss and opted to bat first. However, the skipper himself failed to give a solid start after getting out in the very first over for just 1 run. Devon Conway and Leus du Plooy steadied the innings after an early setback with a 57-run stand for the second wicket.

Vital contributions from the middle-order batters and small but vital partnerships saw Joburg post a fighting total of 169 runs on the scoreboard. Leus du Plooy scored the top score for Joburg with 38 runs with two boundaries and sixes as many as possible. Durban’s bowlers were economical except Naveen-ul-Haq, who conceded 52 runs in his four-over quota.

Chasing the target, the Giants did not have a great start, losing their first four wickets on just 51 runs. However Quinton de Kock and Heinrich Klaasen revived the innings with a 48-run stand for the fifth wicket, and at one of time, it looked like the duo would take the game away from Joburg.

However, Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana brought his team back into the game by getting Klaasen’s much-needed wicket. Following his wicket, Durban’s batting lineup failed to carry the moment and wickets fell like a pack of cards. Eventually, they were bundled out for just 141 runs, losing the match by 28 runs.
