Mahakumbh 2025: NCP leader Mahesh Kothe of Sharad faction died while bathing in the Maha Kumbh Mela on Tuesday. During the royal bath, he suffered a heart attack and died on the spot. 60 year old Mahesh Kothe had gone to Triveni Sangam to take bath in nectar on Makar Sankranti. Where he suffered a heart attack while bathing. He was taken to the hospital but doctors declared him dead.
Mahesh Koth had contested the assembly elections from Solapur on November 20 against BJP’s Vijay Deshmukh, but lost. Kothe is survived by his wife and a son. It is now bone-chilling cold in Prayagraj. Many devotees are falling ill due to bathing in cold water in the harsh winter.
According to the information received in this regard, on January 13, after taking bath in Kumbh, about 3000 devotees reached the OPD of the Central Hospital. Out of which 262 patients were admitted to the hospital. While 37 patients were referred to other hospitals due to critical condition. So far 3 people have died after the royal bath.
On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, the first Amrit Snan took place in Mahakumbh. Amrit Snan started at 8:30 am. An estimated 1.38 crore devotees took a dip in Triveni Sangam on Makar Sankranti in Mahakumbh.
It is extremely cold in Prayagraj during Mahakumbh. Thousands of devotees are falling ill due to cold in Mahakumbh. Due to which lines of patients are being seen in local hospitals also.
