PM Modi has reached Ganderbal in Jammu and Kashmir. The Z-turn tunnel was inaugurated here. The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) has described the tunnel as an engineering marvel and a game changer for the region. He further said that this project will not only improve the travel experience but will also promote social and economic development between Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. The Zojila Tunnel along with the Z-Mor Tunnel will be completed by 2028. This will facilitate regional defense logistics and transportation. This will give a new direction to the connectivity and development between Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir.

This project will transform Sonamarg into a year-round tourist destination. This will also promote tourism. This will boost winter tourism and local livelihood.
