Actress and fashion designer Masaba Gupta, daughter of veteran actress Neena Gupta and former West Indies cricketer Viv Richards, has revealed the name of her three-month-old daughter. Masaba and actor Satyadeep Misra welcomed a baby girl on October 11.
Taking to her official Instagram account on Monday (January 13), Masaba revealed that they have named her ‘Matara’. She also explained what the name means.
“3 months with my Matara 🌷The name embodies the divine feminine energies of 9 Hindu goddesses, celebrating their strength and wisdom. Also, the star of our eyes,” she wrote.
Masaba also shared a photo which gives a glimpse of Matara’s tiny hand. It also features the designer wearing a gold bangle with Matara’s spelling engraved on it.
Soon after she shared the post, several celebrities as well as netizens flooded the comments section with red heart emoticons.
In April 2024, Masaba and Satyadeep announced pregnancy. In a joint Instagram post, the couple wrote, “In other news – Two little feet are on their way to us! Please send love, blessings and banana chips ( plain salted ONLY) #babyonboard #mom&dad.”
Masaba and Satyadeep tied the knot in January 2023. The designer was earlier married to film producer Madhu Mantena in 2015. However, the duo parted ways in 2018 and got divorced in September 2019. On the other hand, Satyadeep was earlier married to Aditi Rao Hydari, but the couple separated in 2013.
On the work front, Masaba was last seen in Modern Love Mumbai, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video in 2022.
