Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The second arm of the Luv Kush Flyover, connecting the Super Corridor directly to MR 10, was opened for the public on Sunday, giving relief to commuters by saving travelling time. As per Indore Development Authority officials, over two lakh people would be benefited by the move.

The flyover at Luv Kush Square was inaugurated by Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav on October 14. During the inauguration, only one arm of the bridge was opened for traffic, as the second arm was 90% complete at the time. Now, with construction fully completed, traffic has been allowed on this arm as well.

Though no formal programme was held, prominent local figures, including MLA Ramesh Mendola, area corporators, senior citizens, and key IDA officials were present when the second arm of the flyover was opened for traffic. Commuters in the area were upbeat, expressing happiness over the reduced travel time and improved convenience.

Ddouble-decker bridge to be ready soon

IDA CEO RP Ahirwar said the Luv Kush Square is also set to host Madhya Pradesh’s first double-decker flyover bridge. While traffic has already begun on the first level, the second level is being constructed with the coming Simhastha festival in mind. The bridge is likely to be ready by the end of this year, further enhancing connectivity.

The IDA has successfully completed and opened flyovers at key locations, including Phooti Kothi Square, Bhawarkua Square, Khajrana Square and Luv Kush Square. These flyovers collectively benefit over 8 lakh residents by ensuring smoother travel across the city.
