Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Two men from Dhar were arrested from Ajmer (Rajasthan) on Saturday night with drugs worth lakhs, police said here on Sunday. The peddlers brought the drugs from other states and supplied them in the city and surrounding areas, as per police.
DCP (crime) Rajesh Kumar Tripathi told media persons that information was received that Mohsin Mansuri, an absconding accused in an NDPS Act case of the crime branch and Shahbaz, both residents of Dhar, were in Rajasthan.
A crime branch team reached Ajmer in search of the accused. They tried to flee on seeing the police but were arrested. During the search, 102 grams of MD drugs, 1.46 kg of charas and 3.8 kg of cannabis were recovered from them. They allegedly confessed to supplying the drugs in Indore, Dhar and Dewas.
The duo was booked under the relevant section of the NDPS Act and is being quizzed about the source of the drugs. Police believe they brought the drugs from Rajasthan. However, information about the people from whom they got the supply is being gathered by the crime branch.
