A major fire broke out at a furniture shop in the Khandu Pada area in Bhiwandi on Sunday. Fire officials stated that the blaze initially started in the furniture shop and later spread to five other shops. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported.

According to fire officials, they received information about the fire at around 6:30 AM on Sunday. In response, they dispatched three fire engines and three water tankers to the scene and managed to extinguish the flames. The fire was brought under control within three hours, and the cooling operation followed. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation. Officials confirmed that five shops, including the furniture shop, a scrap godown, and a plastic godown, were gutted by the fire, with their contents reduced to ashes.

Rajesh Pawar, Chief of the Bhiwandi Fire Station, said, “The fire was brought under control by 1pm. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.”
