Datia (Madhya Pradesh): A 55-year-old man dies of heart attack during a group Surya Namaskar program held in Datia on Sunday.
The man, Santosh Tiwari, who was the headmaster of Girls’ Secondary School in Badora, Datia, tragically passed away due to a heart attack. The incident happened during a group Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) program held on the school premises.
Santosh Tiwari suddenly felt unwell while performing the activity. He was immediately rushed to the district hospital, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
The Surya Namaskar session was organized as part of the National Youth Day celebrations to honor Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary on January 12.
Yoga expert Dr. Anil Kumar Dubey spoke at another event, emphasising the benefits of Surya Namaskar for improving overall health.
Dr. Dubey explained how Surya Namaskar balances the body’s glands, improves blood circulation, and supports digestion and respiration. He also described the 12 steps involved in Surya Namaskar, highlighting their role in promoting physical and mental well-being.
This unfortunate incident brought a somber note to what was meant to be a celebration of health and fitness.
