Former Indian batting coach Sanjay Bangar has compared wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson’s ability to hit sixes with former Indian player Yuvraj Singh. Samson has got the opportunity to open the innings in the T20 team in recent times, and he has capitalized on this responsibility by playing brilliant innings. Despite being out of the team several times in the early stages of his career, Samson has created a new identity for himself as an opener in the series against Sri Lanka after winning the T20 World Cup. So far he has scored 436 runs with three centuries.
Sanjay Bangar praised Samson for this big turnaround and said that he is happy to see Samson scoring runs. He also praised the team management, which gave Sanju the opportunity to play for a long time and the freedom to play freely.
Speaking to Star Sports, Bangar said, “It is heartening to see the success he has had recently. He has been in the team for a long time. He has got the right opportunity and several in a row. When a batsman plays three or four matches at a time, he gets a little freedom.”
He further added, “While batting at the top, he does not need to worry about the position. The fielding stays up, and he’s going to hit sixes. After Yuvraj Singh, if there is any batsman who can hit sixes with ease consistently, it is Sanju Samson. It is really a great experience to see him playing at full strength.”
