Beed Sarpanch Murder Case: MLA Suresh Dhas joins Dharashiv protest demanding justice, fueling political tensions | X
Mumbai: A public protest march was held in Dharashiv on Saturday, demanding justice for the murder of Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh from Masajog village The case has recently taken a political turn, fueling a divide between Marathas and OBCs. In the Santosh Deshmukh murder case, all Maratha leaders have united.
Additionally, there are calls for the resignation of Minister Dhananjay Munde, as he has close ties with the main accused in the case, Valmiki Karad. A few days ago OBC leader Lakshman Hake has supported Munde. During the protest march in Dharashiv, BJP MLA Suresh Dhas strongly reprimanded OBC leaders Lakshman Hake and Prakash Shendge for supporting Minister Dhananjay Munde.
BJP MLA Dhas advised Mr. Hake not to speak based on anyone’s instructions. He further commented on OBC leader Prakash Shendge, saying that “ You are saying the entire OBC community is behind Dhananjay Munde,” while folding his hands in respect.
MLA Dhas also raised a question, asking, ‘If the entire OBC community is supporting him, then who are the ones sitting here?’ He firmly stated that people from every community are present in the protest.
This is the Maharashtra of Phule, Shahu, and Ambedkar. In this Maharashtra, such voting has taken place. Why focus on Dhangar, Maratha, Dalit everything belongs to us. We are all united. I urge you to stop these tactics, Dhas appealed. He further added, ‘If you want to speak, go ahead, but we will not respond to you.’
The family of Santosh Deshmukh also joined the protest march. Along with them, MLA Jitendra Awhad, Sandeep KshirSagar, Suresh Dhas, and Maratha activist Manoj Jarange Patil participated. Earlier, a similar public protest march was held in Beed and Parbhani.
During this time, Minister Dhananjay Munde was criticised without naming him. A strong demand was made to “send the big fish to jail.” However, Deputy Chief Minister and NCP President Ajit Pawar made it clear that no resignation would be taken without solid evidence, which has clarified that Munde will remain in the cabinet for now.
