Nerul: In continuation to the alleged derogatory comments made by Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange Patil against Minister Dhananjay Munde and his community, the first complaint was filed with the Nerul Police.

The Vanjari community in Navi Mumbai came in large numbers and assembled at the police station to express their ire against the activist.

The members termed the derogatory comments was objectionable and an attempt to create division amongst the Hindu community as a whole.

The alleged comments by the activist were stated by the community to be made on January 4.

“His inflammatory remarks were not aimed at just causing division between the Maratha community and the OBC community but also was targeting a public representative and a minister with the intent to tarnish their reputation and endanger their life,” said one of the community members Bhagwan Dhakane.

The letter submitted to the police states that the accused has linked the minister to the Santosh Deshmukh murder case and created unrest in society, which amounts to contempt of the judicial process.

” The murder case is being probed and we as a community too are seeking for justice to be served in this matter but Manoj Jarange, without verifying any facts, has recklessly and provocatively made statements has created unrest,” said another community member.

Police were asked to investigate the matter under relevant sections and register a case and take necessary legal action against the activist.
