Adelaide: Tournament top seed Jessica Pegula of the United States reached the women’s singles final of the Adelaide International Tennis Tournament by defeating Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan 7-6 (4), 6-3 after reaching a first set tiebreaker.
World number seven Pegula will face compatriot Madison Kiss in the final of the Adelaide Open at the Memorial Drive Tennis Park. In the other semi-final, Maddison was leading 5–7, 7–5, 3–0 when Lyudmila Samsonova lost the match. Pegula and Maddison have faced each other twice before and both have won each match. Pegula is in the final for the 15th time in his career.
The final will be played between Aliassime-Korda
The final match in men’s singles will be played between Felix Aguirre Aliassime and Sebastian Korda. In the first semi-final played on Center Court, Korda defeated Kachamanovic 6–3, 7–6 (7–4). Fifth-seeded Aliassime of Canada defeated first-seeded American Tommy Paul 7-6 (6-3), 3-6, 6-4 after reaching a first-set tiebreaker. Aliassime’s record against Korda is 2-1.
