Pune Airport recorded a significant milestone in 2024 by crossing one crore passenger traffic, surpassing the previous year’s record by 8.8 per cent.

Pune Airport, for the first time, reached a total passenger traffic of 1,02,77,695, up from 94,39,335 in 2023, including both national and international passengers.

The international passenger traffic also increased from 1,70,503 in 2023 to 1,98,810 in 2024. Domestic passenger footfall rose to 1,00,78,885 from 92,68,832, a record set the previous year.

December recorded the highest passenger traffic with 9,95,454 passengers, followed by November with 9 lakh, May with 8.94 lakh and October with 8.44 lakh passengers.

Meanwhile, speaking with The Free Press Journal, Santosh Dhoke, Managing Director of Pune Airport, said, “We are expecting to see at least a 10 per cent increase in passenger traffic in 2025. During festive seasons, travel was at its peak. The start of the new terminal and in-line baggage screening system helps reduce passenger processing time. Also, we are focussing on increasing the volume of operations at the Pune Airport. Sometimes, we have recorded around 200 flight moments in a day. ”
