Former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwari has made sharp allegations against head coach Gautam Gambhir in a recent interview. He even called Gambhir a “hypocrite”. Tiwary believes that Gambhir may be better as a consultant to an IPL franchise, but he is not the “right choice” to coach the national team.

Reaction on R Ashwin’s retirement

Tiwari strongly criticized the team management’s treatment of former spinner R Ashwin. He told that Ashwin had surprised everyone by suddenly retiring after the Brisbane Test against Australia. Tiwari believes that Ashwin was not given respect according to his contribution.

Claim of ‘injustice’ against Ashwin

Tiwari said,

“I saw that Ashwin was insulted. There are definitely young talented spinners like Washington Sundar and Tanush Koutian, but when you have an experienced player like Ashwin, then why is there a need to replace them in the home series?

He raised the question and said,

“With bowlers like Jadeja and Kuldeep, why was Ashwin not given priority as per his experience? It is unfair to Ashwin to make him bowl less overs. Is this not an insult to him?”

Ashwin’s silence and hope for the future

Manoj Tiwari praised Ashwin’s decency and said,

“Ashwin will not come directly and express his displeasure because he is a good person. But I am sure one day he will share his experiences. Players should not only get a chance to perform but also respect and encouragement.”

direct aim at serious

Regarding Gautam Gambhir, Tiwari said that his behavior is not conducive to the betterment of the team.

“Gambhir can advise a franchise in a better way, but questions arise about his personality and leadership abilities for the national team.”
