A Delhi-based journalist, Rohit, claims that one of his friends was influenced to vote for the Aam Aadmi party during the upcoming Delhi Assembly Elections while he was recently travelling from Noida to Delhi in a cab. In a detailed post on X, Rohit narrated the events that occurred during the cab ride.

According to Rohit’s post, the incident began when the cab driver unexpectedly started discussing the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections with his friend. During the journey, the driver reportedly began praising AAP, its leaders and their policies, almost like a ‘salesman,’ trying to influence the passenger’s voting decision.

Feeling suspicious, Rohit’s friend asked the driver to stop the car and interrogated him about his intentions. When the passenger threatened to report the matter to the cab service provider, the driver allegedly broke down and revealed startling details.

He claimed he was being paid Rs 500 per day to influence voters in favour of AAP. Later, the driver also disclosed that AAP volunteers conducted surprise checks to ensure the drivers were fulfilling their assigned tasks.

Rohit’s post concluded with a sharp critique of AAP, accusing the party of employing fraudulent tactics to secure votes in the upcoming elections saying, “Imagine the level of fraud AAP is committing to win Delhi!!”

The Aam Aadmi Party has not reacted to any of the allegations as of now. Neither the FPJ found any concrete evidence to back the claims made by Rohit in his X post.

AAP’s Promise To Auto Drivers In Delhi

Meanwhile, recently, former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal promised five guarantees for all auto drivers if the Aam Aadmi Party forms the government again in Delhi:

– Life insurance of up to Rs 10 lakh and accident insurance of Rs 5 lakh for every driver.

– Financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh for a daughter’s marriage.

– Rs 2,500 twice a year for uniform expenses.

– Government-sponsored coaching for children preparing for competitive exams.

– The ‘Poocho App’ will be reintroduced.

However, the revelation made by Rohit in his social media post comes at a critical time as Delhi gears up for assembly polls, which will be conducted in a single phase on February 5, with vote counting scheduled for February 8. The nomination process began on January 17, with scrutiny on January 18 and the withdrawal deadline on January 20.

The political landscape in Delhi has been dominated by AAP in recent years. In the 2020 elections, AAP won a sweeping 62 out of 70 seats, leaving the BJP with just eight seats. The Congress, once a dominant force with 15 consecutive years in power, has faced severe setbacks, failing to secure even a single seat in the last two elections.
