Navi Mumbai Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde Launches ‘Our Navi Mumbai – Our Budget’ initiative, inviting suggestions from the citizens of the city.

In a bid to enhance citizen participation in the development of the city, the city municipal commissioner has announced the initiative. The initiative invites valuable suggestions from citizens and various organizations to help shape the budget for the upcoming financial year 2025-2026.

“The corporation is focused on maintaining high-quality urban services and amenities, and public involvement is crucial in the process of city development. Through this initiative, we aim to incorporate the thoughts and suggestions of citizens from diverse sectors such as healthcare, architecture, law, real estate, sports, women and child development, and organizations serving differently-abled, senior citizens, and backward communities,” Dr Shinde said.

In his statement, Dr. Shinde highlighted that citizens often feel a sense of pride and ownership towards the city they live in. This sense of belonging is particularly strong in a city like Navi Mumbai, which is widely recognized for its progress. As a result, there is a collective desire to make the city even more beautiful, modern, and citizen-friendly.

As part of the budget preparation process, the Municipal Corporation has called upon professional groups, social organizations, and the general public to contribute their suggestions. These ideas will help ensure that the city’s development aligns with the needs and aspirations of its residents. Citizens are encouraged to submit their suggestions in writing, with the title ‘Our Navi Mumbai – Our Budget Suggestions’.

Suggestions can be submitted in person at the Incoming/Outgoing Section on the ground floor of the NMMC Headquarters, or they can be emailed to [email protected]. Additionally, the NMMC website – https://www.nmmc.gov.in/navimumbai/feedback – and the My NMMC (My Navi Mumbai) mobile app offer platforms for online submission. The deadline for submitting suggestions, either in written or online form, is Friday, 17th January.

Dr. Shinde assured that all submitted suggestions would be thoroughly reviewed, and the most inclusive and constructive proposals would be discussed with the relevant stakeholders. By involving citizens and organizations in the budget creation process, the NMMC aims to create a budget that reflects the collective vision of Navi Mumbai’s residents, ensuring that it is not only effective but also aligned with the city’s future needs.

Dr. Shinde’s initiative underscores his commitment to making Navi Mumbai a model city, one that incorporates the ideas and desires of its people to foster overall growth and development.
