Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): The operator and manager tampered with the government’s gram kept in a warehouse located in Malikhedi. They defrauded the government of more than Rs 52 lakh in 7 years. On receiving complaint, Warehousing Logistics Corporation officer lodged a report at Ghattiya police station.

The police said that Gajendra Singh Umath has a warehouse in village Malikhedi of police station area. The government had kept 2,050 sacks of 1,090 quintals of gram in the warehouse between 2018 and January, 2025. The price of the said gram was Rs 4,840 per quintal.

Case registered

The total price of gram is more than Rs 52.76 lakh. Warehouse operator Umath committed breach of trust by tampering with the government’s gram. Warehousing Logistics Corporation’s Khilchipur branch manager Bhagwan Patel was negligent in his work and did not supervise the gram stored in the warehouse.

Patel has been suspended earlier by the regional manager due to irregularities in Gautam Warehouse. This is the second case against him. A case against the warehouse operator and manager for fraud and breach of trust has been registered. Further investigations are underway.
