Moscow: A hilarious yet slightly painful incident occurred at a Russian airport when an elderly woman mistook a baggage conveyor belt for a passenger walkway and ended up being carried into the baggage handling area. The incident was caught on camera and the video of the incident is doing rounds on social media. As per reports, the bizarre incident occurred as the female traveller prepared for her S7 Airlines flight from Vladikavkaz to Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport.
About The Incident
The elderly woman, dressed in a yellow fur coat, a long black skirt and a pink hat, was captured on security cameras at the check-in counter. As two staff members chatted with another passenger, the woman stepped onto the moving conveyor belt, seemingly believing it was a walkway to the boarding area.
She confidently paced forward, reaching out to push aside the plastic curtain that separated the baggage area from the public zone. The woman lost her balance as soon as she stepped on the moving conveyor belt and fell backward onto the conveyor belt, hitting her head and ending up flat on her back.
For a moment, she lay there, staring up at the flight information screen before being pulled feet-first into the hidden world of the baggage handling system. The conveyor belt continued moving, carrying her through the curtain and out of sight.
The three check-in staff members, who were busy in their conversation, turned in shock to see the woman disappearing into the darkness of the baggage system. They were deeply shocked the female traveller vanished entirely into the luggage checking system.
Might Have Entered Deliberately
It also appears that the woman might have wanted to experience what it feels like passing through a conveyor belt. She might have wanted to feel the excitement of the luggage that passes through the darkness of the baggage checking system. Her unplanned “adventure” was hilarious, but also raised concern from onlookers.
Another Incident From Pakistan
In another incident which occurred in Pakistan, a Pathan passed through a baggage scanner near the Pakistan-Afghanistan Torkham border. The incident was caught on camera and the video garnered hilarious reactions on social media. It can be seen in the video that the man passed through the baggage scanning system with the luggage in his hand as the security personnel asked him to keep his luggage on the conveyor belt. However, the man was confused after which he jumped onto the conveyor belt and passed through it with the luggage in his hands.
