Baba Siddiqui Murder Case: Zeeshan Siddiqui Questions Police Probe, Plans Meeting with CM Fadnavis and DyCM Pawar | X

Mumbai: Zeeshan Siddiqui, son of politician Baba Siddiqui, has expressed dissatisfaction with the ongoing police investigation into his father’s murder, alleging significant lapses in the probe. He announced his intention to meet Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar to highlight his concerns.

“The individuals I pointed out as suspects have not been questioned yet. Is the builder lobby involved? Why haven’t the police interrogated the builders I named?” Siddiqui asked during a media interaction.

He further stated that Anmol Bishnoi, Shubham Lonkar, and Zeeshan Akhtar, key suspects in the case, remain at large. “If no one has been taken into custody, how can the police conclude that builders were not involved?” he questioned.

Siddiqui criticized what he described as a lack of action against influential builders, raising suspicions about possible attempts to shield them. “I don’t know who is trying to protect whom, but we will go deep into this case. I shared several names with the police, and I have more names to reveal soon,” he warned.

He also signaled his determination to seek justice through legal avenues. “I have not received any response from the police so far, but I will demand answers from everyone, including in court. I am confident justice will prevail,” he affirmed. Siddiqui’s statements are likely to increase public scrutiny of the investigation and the possible involvement of powerful real estate players.

In response to Zeeshan Siddiqui’s allegations, police sources stated that 26 individuals have already been arrested in the Baba Siddiqui murder case, dismissing claims of negligence. “If our investigation was flawed, would we have been able to arrest so many accused?” a senior officer responded.

Zeeshan Siddiqui had reportedly provided the Crime Branch with a list of 10 to 12 suspects, including several developers. However, police sources clarified that these individuals had not been summoned because no evidence or leads had emerged to implicate them in the murder.

The police reiterated their commitment to conducting a fair and evidence-based investigation and emphasized that no aspect of the case would be overlooked. With public and political pressure mounting, further developments in the investigation are keenly awaited.
