Roha police has arrested a 25 year old man for allegedly raping his 11 year old cousin sister. His two brothers aged 28 and 21 were also arrested for shielding the main accused and threatening the victim’s family while they were on their way to register the case.
The first incident happened on December 30, 2024 when the 11 year old girl from Warse village in Roha Taluka was cycling outside her house while her mother was away. The 25 year old cousin of hers who stayed nearby called her home. “After reaching his house, he sexually abused her and threatened that he would harm her and her mother if she told anyone about the incident,” Deputy Superintendent (Roha division) Ravindra Daundkar, said.
The incident repeated on January 2 and January 3 as well. Fed up of the harassment, she finally told about what was happening to her aunt who informed her mother. “On Tuesday, the parents of the victim were going to Roha police station to register a case that is when the two brothers of the main accused blocked their way with their two wheelers and threatened them to not file the case,” Daundkar added. The victim is a class six student while the main accused has been jobless since four months. The other two accused worked in a private company.
All three accused have been arrested and have been remanded to police custody for five days.
