Governor of Maharashtra, C. P. Radhakrishnan, inaugurated the newly developed synthetic track at the Railway Sports Ground, Bhusawal Division ton 08th January 2025. This state-of-the-art facility is set to provide top-tier infrastructure for railway athletes and Railway School children. The project marks a significant milestone in promoting sports development.
After the inauguration of the synthetic track, Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan ignited the ‘Jyoti’ with the ‘Mashal’ which was carried by child athletes from Railway School on the synthetic track around the ground, symbolizing the bright future of sports development at the Railway Sports Ground.
On the occasion, the Governor also released a coffee table book on the theme of Railway Keyman.
During the event, track maintenance staff were specially honored for their pivotal role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of railway operations.

The initiatives were widely appreciated by attendees, including sports enthusiasts, railway staff, and local citizens, marking a significant advancement in the sports and healthcare sectors for Indian Railways.
The synthetic track enables various sports, including football, hockey, volleyball, javelin throw, discus throw, hammer throw, long jump, triple jump, shot put, and pole vault, among others. The primary objective of this track is to boost the sports sector, strengthen the rich sports tradition of Indian Railways, and enhance the performance of athletes. The track will also facilitate high-quality preparation for national and international competitions, as noted by dignitaries during the event.
Additionally, Prior to this event, Governor inaugurated the ‘Hospital on Wheels’ project presently placed at Bhusawal station, this initiative aims to provide convenient, prompt, and high-quality healthcare services to railway employees and their families. The mobile hospital is designed to cater to remote and inaccessible areas, including gang huts, ensuring comprehensive and accessible healthcare for railway staff. It focuses on early diagnosis, lifestyle disease screening, and timely treatment, reflecting the railway administration’s commitment to employee welfare.
