Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): People purchasing vehicles at Gwalior’s famous Madhav Rao Scindia Trade Fair will likely receive a 50% concession on road tax. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s cabinet has granted in-principle approval for the concession, and an official notification is expected soon.
Although the fair has been running for 13 days, the automobile sector has yet to see a significant boost, as dealers await the official notification to implement the tax relief. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia also wrote a letter to the CM regarding the same.
According to information, this tradition of offering tax concessions at the 120-year-old fair is aimed at maintaining its historic grandeur. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia had written to Chief Minister Yadav on November 29, urging him to continue this practice. In the letter, he urged the CM to pass the order as soon as possible as the tax concession would give boost the sales in the fair.
“I urge the Madhya Pradesh government to implement this concession promptly to attract more buyers and increase the fair’s footfall. It will not only contribute to the growth of trade but also place Gwalior Trade Fair on a prominent pedestal nationally. This step will uphold the historical and commercial significance of this iconic fair”, wrote the Union Minister.
