Al-Nassr star forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, has stated that he has no plans to leave Al-Nassr anytime soon and is determined to win a trophy with the Saudi Pro League club. The 39-year-old’s contract with Al-Nassr is set to expire at the end of the season, sparking speculation that he might be looking for a new challenge during the winter transfer window. Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, expressed his contentment with life in Saudi Arabia, mentioning that his family is also happy there.

Speaking to Saudi Pro Leagues official media channel Ronaldo said, “I’m happy and my family is happy. We started a new life in this beautiful country. Life is good, football is good. In terms of individual and collective, we are still there. We are still improving,”

Despite not achieving the same level of success in terms of silverware as he did with his previous clubs, Ronaldo acknowledged the difficulty of competing in the Saudi Pro League against teams like Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad. However, he remains determined to secure more titles with Al-Nassr.

He added, “It’s hard to compete with teams like Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad, but we are still there, still pushing and fighting. Football is like that; you have good moments and bad moments. But, for me, the most important thing is to be professional, to push hard, respect the club, respect your contract and believe that things will change – for Al Nassr to try to win more titles,”

Cristiano Ronaldo sets sight AFC Champions Trophy

During the interview Ronaldo said that he has set his sights on winning the AFC Champions League which is the biggest title in Asia club football. He said, “The [AFC] Champions League is something I want to win for the club. But the most important is to keep pushing and be professional,”

Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in December 2022 during the winter transfer window after leaving Manchester United. His second stint at United ended in November 2022 following a controversial TV interview with Piers Morgan, where Ronaldo criticized the club’s ownership under the Glazer family, the quality of the facilities, and then-manager Erik Ten Hag, leading to the termination of his contract.
