Bhopal Police Arrest Two In ₹3L Theft At Private Mall’s Theatre | Representative Image

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Bhopal Police arrested two accused, including a former manager in connection with Rs 3 lakh theft at the theatre in Peoples’ Mall. Nishatpura police said here on Monday. According to police officials accused, Sunil Rathore (30) and Akhtar Khan (45) were caught with stolen cash and other goods.

Sunil, formerly employed as manager at the cinema, exploited his knowledge of the mall’s security and cash handling systems to carry out the theft. Facing unemployment and financial difficulties, Rathore collaborated with his friend Akhtar to execute the crime. The theft occurred early on December 30 last year.

Cinema’s general manager Sunil Suryavanshi reported the incident after being informed by the mall’s security head. Upon inspection, Suryavanshi found a broken window, a ransacked office and missing cash, mobile phones and a DVR containing CCTV footage.

Under the direction of Nishatpura Police Station in-charge Rupesh Dubey, the police team examined over 60 CCTV footages and acted on a tip-off.

The suspects were located in Chhola Mandir area and were arrested near Dussehra Ground after a brief chase. During interrogation, both confessed to the crime, with Rathore admitting to leveraging his prior knowledge of the cinema’s operations. Stolen cash was recovered and the accused were presented in court.
