Tips to clean water bottle: The water bottle that you carry with you and drink during the day can also be full of bacteria. This will seem strange. But in reality, dangerous bacteria start growing in reused water bottles. If it is not cleaned properly in time, then bacteria in such a bottle can become more dangerous than a toilet seat.
According to a recent study, a reusable water bottle can contain as many as 20.8 million colony forming units of bacteria. If the bottle has a spout top or scoop top lid, this number can be as high as 30 million. This number is more than the bacteria present on the toilet seat.
Research revealed that there are two types of bacteria in the bottle. Gram Negative Bacteria and Bacillus Exposure to these bacteria can cause infection and serious stomach illness. The study also revealed that the growth of bacteria in reusable water bottles is due to the bottles not being cleaned at the correct temperature. If the bottle is cleaned and left at room temperature, bacteria can grow rapidly. Therefore it is important that the bottle is cleaned at the correct temperature.
Experts say that water bottles should always be washed with hot water. To wash water bottles, the water temperature should be above 60°C. Washing bottles at this temperature kills bacteria. Dishwashing liquid can also be used to wash the bottle. Fill a bottle with hot water and leave it for 10 minutes. After this, empty the bottle and dry it in the sun. If the bottle is too dirty, fill a pot with water and add vinegar. Soak the bottle in this mixture for 24 hours. After this, wash the bottle with hot water and dry it.
